This bay colt scored a pair of winning qualifers at The Meadowlands in June before beginning his pari-mutuel career at The Big M in the $53,500 Harriman Cup, which he won easily by five lengths in 1:59.

He followed that up with victories in two legs of his New Jersey Sire Stakes, and then captured the $175,000 Final at The Big M on July 18 in 1:57.

Deweycheatumnhowe was given a two-month break, qualified at Vernon in 1:57.2, then headed to Lexington's Red Mile. He then captured a $92,000 Colt Stake in 1:54.2, and followed that up by winning a $90,500 International Stallion Stake division at The Red Mile on October 4, when he crossed the wire in a personal best of 1:54.2.

Next, he headed to Canada. In his $23,690 Valley Victory elimination on October 20 at Woodbine, this firey colt was parked out fourth at the opening quarter in :29.1, but gained command by the :59 half, and then drew off to a 1:28.1 three-quarter clocking and 1:56.4 final time to finish one and 1/4 lengths ahead of rival Celebrity Secret.

In the $692,692 Valley Victory final on October 27 at Woodbine, Deweycheatumnhowe cruised home in 1:58 to nail down his eighth win of his freshman career for Schnittker.
