Street Dancer

Street Dancer was born and raised at Jim Reynold’s Freedom Hill Farms in Watseka, Illinois. After a modest freshman campaign that saw her earn $60,000 by winning four of five starts—pacing in 1:55.1h at Maywood—she returned in 2006 for a stellar 3-year-old season.

Street Dancer won her first start at two, pacing in 2:00.2 for driver Dale Hiteman at Balmoral on September 28, 2005. She followed that up with a four-length win in 2:00.1 at Maywood, and followed that up with wins in both the $66,000 Violet Stake at Maywood and the $42,000 Sarah Myers at Balmoral on November 27, pacing in 1:55.2 with Hiteman at the controls.

After a brief rest, she returned at age 3, qualifying in 1:59.1 at Balmoral on March 20, 2006. She qualified once more than scored a 1:54.3 victory in an ICF stake at the Crete, oval on April 10. She won her next two starts easily, and continued on a roll throughout the summer months, racing at Hawthorne and scoring victories in their White Sox and Plum Peach divisional legs.

One of her best efforts came in the $52,000 Violet Stakes at Balmoral in mid-summer, when she paced in 1:51 and then 1:51.3 in the elimination and final, respectively. She bested such horses as her main rival Free, My Metalica and other top Illinois-bred pacing fillies. She continued her dominance of her division throughout the summer, pacing in 1:50.3 at Springfield en route to winning a $50,000 State Fair Final, and capped that off with a victory in the $180,000 Grandma Ann on Super Night at Balmoral, before finishing second by a nose in the $100,000 Maywood Filly Pace to Free in 1:53.4.

She rebounded to take the $100,000 Cinderella Stake at Maywood in 1:54.1 by six lengths on November 17—her last victory of the year.

In 2007 Street Dancer appears stronger than ever. She was shipped to The Meadowlands in early February, and scored her first win there on the 16th of that month, pacing in 1:52.4 with Ron Pierce at the lines in a $35,000 division of the Cape & Cutter. It was the first time she had been piloted by anyone other than Hiteman.

She next finished second in a $50,000 leg of the Overbid for Pierce on March 9, then was coupled with driver Brian Sears and trainer Mark Silva for the remainder of her races. Her first win for her new team came in the $106,700 Overbid Final on March 30, when she stormed to victory in 1:51.3. She had a month off, then returned in early May with one qualifier under her belt to win in 1:50.1 in a conditioned pace at The Big M on May 4. She was third in the $100,000 Matriarch, pacing in 1:49.1 behind Easton Alliance N and Marnie Hall, and came back a week later to win the $42,000 Open in 1:49.3 for Sears on May 18.

Street Dancer won a $38,000 conditioned pace on May 25 at The Meadowlands, pacing in 1:50.2, and then finished a strong second in the $225,000 Lady Liberty at the East Rutherford oval on June 1, pacing in 1:49.2.
