Driver Brent Holland scored career victory #3,000 in the first race at Maywood Park on Thursday night, steering trainer Mike Brown's pacer Hit The Hyway to a wire-to-wire victory in 1:57.4. The Wilmington, Ohio native has well over $600,000 in purse earnings this season and over $22 million earned lifetime.

"While I'm obviously pleased to have 3,000 winners, I don't set any goals," said Holland, who is in his 20th season as a professional driver. "I just go out every night and try to do the best I can. To get this many winners you not only have a lot the drives, but you need to have good drives to succeed. You have to have the chance to drive for stables that classified their horses right and fortunately I have had that opportunity, especially this year with Erv (Trainer Miller) giving me the chance to drive many of his good young horses."

Horses that the 35-year-old Holland has driven have won over $1 million for the past nine seasons, with Brent's best year coming in 2000 when he notched 307 winners with his drives earning over $3.1 million.
