Mr Feelgood Takes Presidential

January 26, 2008

Mr Feelgood eclipsed the competition to capture the $126,500 Presidential
final on Saturday night at the Meadowlands.

Mr Feelgood came from off the pace and with one last surge, edged out Palone
Ranger [$16.80, $8.60] in the photo finish by a nose in 1:50. Special Report
[$3.60] sat the pocket throughout the mile and was pacing hard at the wire,
finishing only a neck back in third.

“Jimmy’s [Takter] done a great job with him,” winning driver Andy Miller said.
“Putting him on Lasiks and sharpening him up. He got away good. Got in the two
hole behind Special Report. Brian [Sears] moved to the front and we waited. Top
of the lane we got a little room and he just exploded. I couldn’t hardly see
him. I knew it was tight but I was hoping I had got him. He’s a very nice
horse.”

“He was actually happy to come back and do a little work,” winning trainer Jimmy
Takter said. “He’s changed quite a lot since he was three. He matured more and
he’s a little more a man versus a boy. We sure hope that he stays at this level
maybe get a little better. He hasn’t had that many starts 1:50 in this weather
to me is a very good mile.”

Mr Feelgood, a five-year-old son of Grinfromeartoear, posted his first victory
of the year in his fourth start and increased his lifetime earning to $786,999
for owners Brittany Farms of Versailles, Kentucky, Lindy Farm of Conn., of
Enfield, Connecticut and John Fodera of Staten Island, New York.
