Volunteers will be picking up 100-200 homeless pets from the shelter, in an effort to make more room for animals affected by Hurricane Katrina. The animals will be arriving at PAWS Chicago on Wednesday night

MuttShack Animal Rescue, is currently working with Humane Society of La. and La/Spca, and they need people to help with the equine care of the rescued horses. They currently have 350 horses in one location and barely anyone to care properly for them, and need folks in the area of Gonzales, Tylertown or Baton Rouge, that would be willing to provide temporary housing for them. The ultimate goal is to re-unite these animals with their owners. If you can help, email Sharon at possecop@msn.com
Noah's Wish (contact on the website) is a non profit organization that is only activated in emergencies and natural disasters for the sole purpose of helping out the 4 legged victims: http://www.noahswish.org/
