November 19, 1965 – Bret Hanover, driven by Frank Ervin, wins the Messenger at Roosevelt Raceway in New York to complete a sweep of the Pacing Triple Crown races. He is the second pacer to win the Triple Crown, following Adios Butler in 1959.
