December 2, 2000 – The Paper Wazoo, driven by Bruce Ranger, sets the world record for 4-year-old geldings pacing on a five-eighths of a mile track by winning in 1:50.2 at Pompano Park.
December 3, 1988 – Mack Lobell, driven by John Campbell, wins the Van Lennep Memorial Invitational in 1:55.3 at Pompano Park on his way to his second straight Horse of the Year award.
