February 4, 1965 – World champion trotter Greyhound dies at age 33 in Illinois.

February 7, 1993 – Merging Light, driven by David Smith, wins the Damsel Pacing Series in 1:55.2 at Greenwood Raceway in Toronto.

February 8, 1991 – White Ruffles, driven by Jack Moiseyev, wins the first of her two consecutive Cape & Cutter finals in a stakes record 1:54 at the Meadowlands in New Jersey.

February 9, 1991 – Miraculous Lady wins the Damsel Pacing Series in 1:56.1 at Greenwood Raceway.

February 10, 1996 – Federal Yankee, driven by Homer Hochstetler, upsets Night Court Dan and Impeccable Image to win the Dygert Memorial Final at Hawthorne Racecourse.

February 11, 1978 – Senor Skipper, driven by Buddy Gilmour, wins the inaugural Presidential in 1:58.3 at the Meadowlands.

February 12, 1979 – Jurgy Hanover, driven by Ed Lohmeyer, defeats defending champion Quick Work, to win the Su Mac Lad in 2:03.1 at the Meadowlands.

February 13, 1962 – Dave Palone, the winner of more than 10,000 races and a four-time winner of the HTA Driver of the Year Award, is born in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania.

February 14, 1987 – Keystate Hanover, driven by Ray Remmen, wins the inaugural Aquarius final in 1:55 at the Meadowlands Racetrack in New Jersey.

February 15, 1985 – Selena Lobell, driven by Myles McNichol, sets the world record for fillies or mares trotting on a five-eighths of a mile track by winning in 1:57.2 at Pompano Park in Florida.

February 16, 1985 – Diane Long drives Don’t Bug Me to victory in 1:55.3 at Pompano Park for the fastest pacing mile by a female driver on a five-eighths of a mile track.

February 17, 1987 – Ombre Rose, driven by Carmine Abbatiello, wins the inaugural Night Styles final in 1:56.4 at the Meadowlands.

February 18, 1989 – Banker Blue Chip, driven by Wally Hennessey, equals the world record for pacing horses five years and older by winning in 1:52.2 at Pompano Park.
