September 28, 1875 – The Red Mile opens in Lexington, Kentucky.

September 28, 1938 – Billy Direct, driven by Vic Fleming, breaks Dan Patch’s pacing world record (1:55.1 in 1905) by finishing a time trial in 1:55 at the Red Mile in Lexington, Kentucky.

September 29, 1938 – Greyhound, driven by Sep Palin, sets the trotting world record by going 1:55¼ in a time trial at the Red Mile.

September 30, 1979 – Tender Loving Care, driven by Shelly Goudreau, sets the world record for fillies or mares by pacing 1:52.4 in a time trial at the Red Mile.

October 1, 1971 – Steady Star, driven by Joe O’Brien, sets the pacing world record of 1:52 at the Red Mile.

October 1, 1980 – Niatross, driven by Clint Galbraith, sets the pacing world record of 1:49.1 in a time trial at the Red Mile.

October 1, 1989 – Matt's Scooter, driven by Mike Lachance, wins the Gold Cup in 1:51 at Mohawk Racetrack in Ontario.

October 2, 1982 – Fan Hanover, driven by Glen Garnsey, sets the world record for filly or mare trotters by finishing a time trial in 1:50.4 at the Red Mile.

October 3, 1938 – Rosalind trots 1:56¾ in a time trial at the Red Mile, setting a record for female trotters that would stand until the mid-1970s.

October 3, 1969 – Lindy's Pride, driven by Howard Beissinger, wins the Kentucky Futurity in straight heats at the Red Mile in Lexington to complete a sweep of the trotting Triple Crown races.
