Gambling – 60 Minutes Style
The takeout will be 15% with a guaranteed $100,000 pool!

May 24, 2008

Don’t look for Mike Wallace or Andy Rooney or any of the Sixty Minutes crew at Monmouth Park any time soon but horse bettors that are looking for some exciting sports wagering and horse racing betting action can get on board with a new wager that will debut in Oceanport on May 24.

Like the name suggests, the wager will be called the Sixty Minute Six and it’s basically a speeded up version of the Pick Six. I know most are saving their hard earned dollars for Big Brown, Casino Drive and the 2008 Belmont Stakes, but let’s pad that bankroll.

It will give horse bettors that love horse betting action all they can handle. The bet combines races at Monmouth, Belmont, Philly and Delaware Park. It will encompass a pair of races from two of the tracks with one each from the other two venues.

The races obviously will be picked so they will be run in a one-hour span so instead of tying up your bet all day, usually around 3 hours for a Pick Six normally, you can bet, pack the lunch, hit the beach, visit the mistress and go on with life and maybe get paid in the process.

Got to give the powers that be that made this bet possible their props. It will be tough because of the different venues but you have to think outside the box in this day and age and this is a bit outside the box although it has its birth in the Magna Pick 5, which is the same theory but with only Magna tracks. The best things horse bettors can look for with this wager is that it has a $1 base. If there are no winners, 75% of the pool will carryover to the following Saturday’s 60 Minute Six.
