The richest pacer to date in North America this year is non-other than the hard knocking pacer Foiled Again. So far in 2011 the 7-year-old gelded son of Dragon Again-In A Safe Place has captured the $246,000 Graduate and the $300,000 Molson Pace Final, among others. He continues to be a model of consistency for the partnership of Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi and Jjk Stables.

“This horse shows up all the time,” said his driver Yannick Gingras. “You have horses that get sick, have all kinds of excuses. He never has excuses. Every time he brings his A game. Every time I sit behind him I am confident.”

“When you got a horse like Foiled Again, just show them racetrack. To be honest, he loves being first up,” Gingras revealed. "Of course Ronnie (trainer Burke) does a great job of preparing this horse for every start."

The 2010 season of Foiled Again saw him take his second George Morton Levy title at Yonkers Raceway and the Quillen Memorial at Harrington Raceway. It also saw him finish in the runner-up spot to stablemate Won the West in the Breeders Crown.

Foiled Again also reached the $2 million mark in career earnings in 2010. Among his most impressive victories of 2010, was gelding’s victory in an Invitational at Woodbine in a season’s best 1:48.3.

In the 2010 edition of the $312,000 Molson Pace, Foiled Again led for most of the mile in his elimination and was caught close to the wire by Hypnotic Blue Chip to finish second. In the final, Gingras used Foiled Again’s terrific gate speed to grab control of the race before being caught in the last stride by stablemate Won The West, who won by a head in 1:52.2.
