Escort is best known for being the first winner of the Meadowlands Pace of 1977. He took a top mark of 1:54.4 en route to winning the $425,000 Big M Pace that year--then the richest race for any breed of horse at the time. Raced with eliminations and a final on the same day, the Meadowlands Pace aw Escort finish second in the $106,250 elimination before winning the $212,500 final.

Escort finished in the money in 24 of 36 career starts with ten wins, ten seconds and four thirds, earning $211,975. He was trained and driven throughout his career by New Jersey horseman Carl LeCause and was retired to stud duty at Walnridge Farm for 13 years, before moving to Concorde Stud Farm in Cream Ridge, N.J. upon his retirement from the breeding shed in 1990. He passed away on October 16, 2005 at the ripe old age of 31-years-old.

Escort was a successfull sire, producing the $1 million winning Perfect Out and the $728,977 winner Alvoc. He also produced 1982 New Jersey Pacing Classic winner Pitt Boy, a winner of $387,624 and Brief Affair--the only horse ever to sweep three New Jersey Sire Stakes Championships in a single year. Escort produced a total of 672 starters who earned well over $21.5 million, with 30 in 1:55 or faster, 228 in 2:00 or better and 465 in 2:05 or quicker.
