IHHA Elects Engel as President
Director and Officer Election Held

The Illinois Harness Horsemen's Association (IHHA) announced that on August 20, 2005, it held an election for five seats on its Board of Directors. Nelson Willis of Beecher, IL led all candidates followed by Rick Schrock of Springfield, IL who was one of only three incumbents that were running to be re-elected. Walter Paisley of Stockton, IL, Darcy Pletcher of South Chicago Heights, IL and George Bonomo from Chicago, IL were also elected to three-year terms on the Board.

At the August 24, 2005 Board of Directors meeting of the Illinois Harness Horsemen's Association, Director Marty Engel of Buffalo Grove, IL was elected IHHA President. Marty has been an IHHA Board Member since 2003 and this is his first term as President. Marty owns one of the top racing stables on the Chicago harness circuit. He also has his own accounting and tax business located in downtown Chicago. Other Officers elected were; David McCaffrey of Burr Ridge to the office of 1st Vice President, Sam Lilly of Downers Grove as 2nd Vice President, Ira Smolin of Beecher as Secretary, George Bonomo of Chicago as Treasurer and Ronnie Roberts of Compton as Assistant Treasurer. All Officers will serve a one-year term.
