Duer to Kentucky Harness Hall of Fame
Carter Duer--owner and operator of Peninsula Farms of Kentucky & Pennsylvania, was inducted into the Kentucky Harness Racing Hall of Fame Thursday afternoon at the Red Mile.
Members of the Duer family celebrate Carter's (third from left) induction into the Kentucky Harness Racing's Hall of Fame.
Duer began his career when he was in his early twenties, caring for such stallions as Good Time, Victory Song and Worthy Boy. He founded Peninsula Farm in 1990 and has raised and bred countless harness champions since then.
"Very rarely does a horseman come along where the words 'good' or 'great' can't describe him. He is a legend in the sport of harness racing and has been for many decades," said Dean Hoffman when introducing Duer.
"The people and the horses are what make this sport great," Duer said.
