Quebec native Daniel Dube learned the ropes from his driver-trainer father, Leo, and then began his driving career at the age of 18. He has won numerous driving titles at Hippodrome de Quebec, Hippodrome de Montreal, Hippodrome Trois Rivieres and at Yonkers Raceway in New York.

In the mid-1990s, he competed in the International Driver's Championship in Moscow, Russia, winning the contest in 1994 and finishing 5thin the 1995 edition of this classic European competition as the Canadian representative.   As a result, in 1997, he received the United States Harness Writers Association’s Rising Star Award. 

Since moving to The Meadowlands on a permanent basis in 1999 he has consistently ranked among the Top 10 drivers.  The following year, he gained national attention as the regular driver of 2000 Horse of the Year Gallo Blue Chip, who stands as the sport’s richest pacer of all time with more than $4 million in earnings.

Dube finished 10th in the 2006 January-August driver Meadowlands standings with 31 victories and $968,695 in earnings. He got the call to drive the top pacing pair of Boulder Creek and Marnie Hall for trainer Mark Silva in last year as well.   Marnie Hall captured the $195,000 Golden Girls Final and a $85,000 Classic Series division, and also picked up checks in the Lady Liberty and Breeders Crown. Dube won another $85,000 Classic Series division with Boulder Creek, and also won the $106,100 Overbid Pownal Final with Bay Matt.
