Dr. Stanton was literally a "rags to riches" horse, who at the age of five had not yet been to the races. He was then purchased by W. L. Fraser of Canada who made him one of the richest pacers in the world from 1946-1953. Of 197 starts, Dr. Stanton finished first 74 times, placed 37 times, and came in third 27 times. He died after a workout at Hazel Park Raceway in 1953.
