$184,425 Dexter Cup Final Won by Lindy Five Hundred

May 14, 2005

The $184,425 Dexter Cup Trot was captured this afternoon by Lindy Five Hundred, and driver George Brennan, who held off a late rush by Great George Two (Jonathan Roberts). Ray Schnittker trains Lindy Five Hundred for Jones For President, KR Breeding and Edward Pachula.

"I told George (Brennan) to go right to the front and not to let the seven (Great George Two) get the lead," Schnittker said. "If we could get in front of the seven, I knew we had the race. He's eligible for the Hambletonian, so we'll shoot for that."

"This is my first Dexter win," Brennan said. "It's quite an honor to win such a prestigious, Grand Circuit race--a race with so much history. Ray did a great job getting Lindy Five Hundred ready; he's a pleasure to drive and when I asked him at the end, he came home strong."

The victory was the second in four starts this year for Lindy Five Hundred. He returned a win mutuel of $2.80 as the 2-5 favorite coupled with Clearaway, Manopoly and Armbro Copenhagen.
