Caviart Sydney Retired
November 29, 2006
Caviart Sydney, one of this year’s top 3-year-old pacing fillies, has been retired from racing and is on her way to the breeding barn, according to owners Buck and Judy Chaffee of Caviart Farms.
On Monday morning Caviart Sydney made the trip from trainer Richard Norman’s barn at White Birch Farm to nearby Fair Winds Farm where she will be bred to Rocknroll Hanover in 2007.
Caviart Sydney scored the highlight of her career when she defeated My Little Dragon in an exciting Matron Stake final.
“This little filly raced big,” said driver Ron Pierce. “I knew that she was getting sharp, but I never expected her to beat My Little Dragon. She raced a really big mile – 1:52.1, especially in weather like this.”
The daughter of Dragon Again and Caviart Sierra (by Western Hanover), retires with earning of $444,787.
