Cam Fella Series Contested Saturday at Woodbine

Landscapist and Moonlite Jazz, both grandsons of Cam Fella captured their respective $35,000 divisions of the first leg of the Cam Fella Pacing Series at Woodbine Racetrack Saturday night. The second leg of the Cam Fella Series goes next Saturday, March 11, with the $126,000 (estimated) final scheduled for Saturday, March 18.

Landscapist and driver Mike Saftic captured the first and faster division wire to wire in 1:52.1 with Woolloomooloo (Luc Ouellette) in second and Super Eighty Eight (Paul MacDonell) in third. Trained by Des Tackoor for John Levy Racing Ltd. and Mark Scholes of Hamilton, Ontario, the four-year-old gelded son of Cambest picked up his first win of the year in seven tries and boosted his life earnings to just over $89,000.

Longshot Moonlite Jazz scored in the second division with Mark MacDonald at the lines. Cheyenne Hollywood (Mike Saftic) was second with Mr Delite (Luc Ouellette) third. A four-year-old Cams Card Shark gelding, Moonlite Jazz has two wins and a second in eight starts for $31,500 and just over $128,000 lifetime for owner Laexpress Stable LLC of Lincoln University, Pennsylvania. Mark Ford conditions the bay gelding.
