Mr Feelgood Steals The Show
Mr Feelgood stole the thunder of Jeremes Jet on a night where thunder and lightning transformed Woodbine's 7/8-mile oval into a traprock quagmire. Mark MacDonald hustled Mr Feelgood to the lead and posted an opening quarter in :26.3 with Jeremes Jet attacking on the rim for Paul MacDonell. Jeremes Jet cleared to the front shortly after the opening station and once he got there he put up panels of :56.1 and 1:26.1. MacDonald launched Mr Feelgood out of the pocket in the lane and used a 27-second final quarter to edge past Jeremes Jet (Western Hanover) by a half-length. Doonbeg (Camluck) rallied from far back to finish third.

"The connections told me Mr Feelgood was a nice horse," said MacDonald. "I was still surprised he beat Jeremes Jet. Jimmy Takter told me if I worked out a trip we'd get a piece. As it was, the trip worked out perfectly. I used him hard leaving the gate and he paced hard right through the wire."

Mr Feelgood, a son of Grinfromeartoear – Best Of Memories, is 2-for-3 to start the season for Jimmy Takter, who trains the career winner of $159,046 for the Canamerica Capital Corp. of Milton, ON, the Diversity Stable of North Bergen, NJ, and Lindy Farms of Conn. of Enfield, CT.
