Two & Three-Year-Old Breeders Crown Events A Race By Race Synopsis Breeders’ Crown Final $683,100 (CDN) 2 Year Old Colt Trot: 10 Starters DONATO HANOVER was away well back, made steady progress first-over through turn two, had to be steadied a bit near the top of the stretch, but was easily the best in here. He is owned by David Scharf, Golden Touch Stable and Steven Arnold of NY & NJ, trained by Steve Elliott, and driven by Ron Pierce.
RELENTLESS DUKE got away mid-pack, followed poor cover second-over was forced three-wide into the lane when his cover expired, and closed willingly and widest of all.
ADRIAN CHIP left hard, and was three-wide into turn one, was left out a long way, before finally clearing on turn two, met the winner’s pressure almost immediately, and held well while no match.
MYTHICAL LINDY made two moves to assume command, yielded a second time to let Adrian Chip clear, followed along behind that one through turn three, and was no threat.
QUITE EASY took back off the gate, gapped out badly on the backstretch, picked it up a bit on the final turn, and rallied only mildly.
EDGESTONE HANOVER left enough from midpack to drop into the three hole, labored to follow along there, and had no late kick. STUNT MAN HALL left hard, and was parked to the 3/8ths pole, reached the top, and was the victim of an immediate retake, worked his way out of the four-hole, and faded. LADDIE was off slowly, and never got involved. LIBRA VITA was off stride before the start, lagging the field by 5 lengths, and was no factor. XACTLY HANOVER took back to last from the ten hole, and stayed there.

Breeders’ Crown Final $569,250 (CDN) 3 Year Old Filly Trot: 10 Starters SUSIES MAGIC left alertly to reach the top, yielded willingly, finding herself in the three-hole after the half, followed the good inside to the top of the stretch, angled out and knifed through between fillies to just get up for the upset. She is owned by L&L Devisser, LLC and William Jones of MI and KY, trained by Tony J O Sullivan, and driven by Dave Miller.
PURE IVORY was flushed out and made a first-over bid on the backside, yielded immediately to the heavy favorite, tracked that one to the stretch, angled out around the first-over challenger, and was dead game, while being collared on the wire.
PASSIONATE GLIDE floated out past the eighth pole, flushed out cover on the backstretch, before clearing easily, met a surprise challenger on the final turn, andwas game, while getting reeled in in the last 100 yards.
BYE BYE KERRY gapped a bid on the backside, got into the race widest through the stretch, and closed solidly.
BEE LINE protected the three-hole the first time past the grandstand, made a surprising, and strong first up challenge on turn two, and tired a bit off a strong performance.
MERLES PEARL left hard to gain the two hole, was shuffled out of contention, and closed evenly. BIRMINGHIM was off slowly, and made a late bid, as no factor. QUICK CREDIT followed along in the six hole, and never got started. WINNING SISTER dropped in from the eight hole, and made no movers. FOUR STARZ LINDY was empty.

LITTLE MISS DRAGON made a strong brush to take the lead before the half, tried to bottom out the field in the third quarter, fought off her first challenger mid-stretch, but could not stall the winner’s charge home.
CABANA FEVER avoided trouble on turn two, catapulted three-wide off a poor-second over trip, challenged the favorite mid-stretch, where she looked like an easy winner, and hung very badly.
WESTERN MONTANA followed cover third-over, made a wide move in the stretch, and never got close.
HANA HANOVER blasted out to reach the top, yielded grudgingly to Southwind Rio before the half, had a bit of trouble when that one skipped on the far turn, and raced evenly.
JAYNES CHARACTER chose to race from off the pace, and passed the tired fillies. NATIVE HANOVER got into the flow fourth-over, a nd never fired. SPEED DATE skimmed the cones fifth-in, and never had a shot. TRIM HANOVER was first over for a while, clogged the outer flow, then dropped an anchor at the head of the stretch. SOUTHWIND RIO was used hard to reach the front, yielded to the favorite’s move immediately, and broke stride in the two hole.

He is owned by Majestic Son Stable of Lansdowne, ON, trained by Mark Steacy, and driven by Trevor Ritchie.
GLIDEMASTER made a long challenge first-over against the eventual winner, gave it everything he had, but could not get by.
HERE COMES HERBIE was out a way on turn one before reaching the front, readily yielded to the eventual winner’s retake, and trotted evenly along the cones while no match for the top two.
BERTO PRIMO got the first call off the gate, immediately yielded when he got company on the front, and faded a bit to fifth, placed up to fourth.
ALGIERS HALL followed along well back, and closed well from too far back to finish sixth, placed up to fifth.
RC ROYALTY failed to get a pocket spot out of the nine hole, was forced to take a bit back when he had no shot to reach the front, tried to launch a three-wide bid from well back, and had nothing, finishing seventh, placed si xth. GLOBAL GLIDE made no moves, and finished eighth, placed seventh. BLUE MAC LAD broke stride on turn two while well back, and finished tenth, placed ninth. MAKE YOU MINE followed the good inner flow, fourth-in, and trotted well along the cones to finish fourth, only to be placed last for racing inside at least three of them.

She is owned by Brittany Farms of Versailles, KY, trained by Ron Gurfein, and driven by Mike Lachance.
PAMPERED PRINCESS trotted up into contention first over on the final turn, gave the winner all she could handle through the stretch, but was just out gamed, and handed the first loss of her career.
ADELAIDE HALL gapped badly second-over on turn two, and was clearly third-best while no match to the top two.
FALLS FOR YOU skimmed the cones, and beat the tired ones as a complete non-factor.
CCS CASEYS DREAM also followed along the inside, fifth-in, and trotted evenly. SHEER SOUL got to the front easily, yielded before half, and was sitting a good two hole trip when she broke stride before three-quarters. CELEBRITY SPEEDIE left alertly to get into the three-hole, improved along the rail when the pocket-sitter broke, and broke stride he rself, running the length of the stretch. MATRIARCH was off slowly from the rail, and was following dull cover third-over when she broke stride on the far turn. CONSTANCE HALL broke stride while leaving, and showed nothing. WISHFUL ME got away at the back of the pack, and lost action.

DARLINS DELIGHT made the front at three-eights, cut honest fractions through three-quarters, and paced a good final quarter, while getting collared by the filly that was better tonight.
ARTS TEMPTRESS reached the front from the far outside before turn one, gapped out of the pocket at three-quarters, allowing My Little Dragon to get a short breather, and was no match for the top two.
GRANDIOSE GAL got away fourth, stayed there through the mile, angled off the cones into a wide path in the stretch, and could not gain any ground.
CAVIART SYDNEY followed poor cover third-over, angled wide and was able to nail the final check here.
MOMMY ROBIN Q broke stride before the gate, skimmed the cones last, and closed willingly. BOLERO TOKI followed live cover second-over, could n’t keep up, and clogged the rim. BOW WOW WINE improved position inside when the outer tier formed, but had no kick. WESTERN GALLIE got away well from the eight hole, followed along the cones in the three-hole, gapped and faded. ETERNITYS DELIGHT followed cover fourth-over from well back, and didn’t fire.

KENNETH J was last to clear through an active first-half, tried to bottom the field through a 27-second third panel, and got collared by a strong winner.
ARTZINA was second-over behind awful cover, was forced to go three-wide early, and closed well from off an awful trip.
SUTTER HANOVER was away evenly, skimmed the cones, avoiding the poor outer flow, and finished mildly.
RUNNING BROOK left alertly to protect the rail, followed the inner flow from midpack, and showed only mild pace.
OLAY OLAY pulled out of the two hole off turn one to reach the front, let Kenneth J clear easily before the half, and faded badly off a good trip. LAUGHING ART sprung away from the gate to reach the front early, yielde d off turn one, getting shuffled to fourth-in and stopped. SOUTHWIND LYNX was in a good flow until all of her cover cleared, was left first-over, and was horrendous. SPIN RATE followed the poor cover fifth-over, tried to follow a good one three-wide, and expired.

Breeders’ Crown Final $694,485 (CDN) 3 Year Old Colt Pace: 10 Starters SHARK GESTURE left belatedly, and was last to reach the front before turn one, controlled the pace through pedestrian early fractions, met a long first-over challenge from Dave Panlone, and put that one away mid-stretch to avenge the big upset in the elims. He is owned by Norman Smiley, Gerald Smiley and TLP Stable of FL, QC and NJ, trained by Ervin Miller and driven by George Brennan.
MISTER BIG (the upsetter from the elim, followed live cover second-over through the far turn, angled three-wide into the lane, and took dead aim on the leader, but could not get by.
WESTERN ACE left enough to take the two hole, tracked the leader to the stretch before he had to back out and angle wide to find room, and couldn‘t get going enough to come again.
WESTERN GUY skimmed the cones while gapping out the three-hole, and was well beaten.
ARTISTIC FELLA was away last, tried to improve along the cones, but got stuck behind a rail gapper, came again along the inside in the stretch, but had too little, too late.
JEREMES JET followed the live cover fifth-over, and offered nothing. SANDRO HANOVER got into the live flow fourth-over, and broke stride in the stretch. CARRS CHARACTER broke stride midway down the backstretch while sitting in the eight hole. TOTAL TRUTH followed the flow third-over, and broke stride while trying to launch a three-wide bid at 3/4ths.
