$755,100 Bluegrass Stakes Recap

Thursday Afternoon at Lexington...Eight stakes for 2-year-old filly pacers and 2-year-old colt and gelding trotters totaled $755,100 in purses on a 15-race program Thursday at Lexington's Red Mile.
My Little Dragon, driven by Ron Pierce for trainer Noel Daley, romped home in 1:53 4/5 over Grandiose Gal and Pilgrims Giggles to win a $99,000 Bluegrass Stake. The Dragon Again filly had won her career debut in 1:53 the week before at The Red Mile. My Little Dragon, owned by Adam Victor & Son Stable, will start next week at The Red Mile, then prepare for the Breeders Crown, Daley said.
Chocolatier took a $93,650 division of the Walnut Hall Cup (Bluegrass Series) for 2-year-old colt and gelding trotters in 1:57 2/5 for trainer Doug Ackerman and driver D.R. Ackerman. Chocolatier is owned by Doug Ackerman Stables.
Lonesome Day won a $98,000 division of the Bluegrass Stake in 1:54 2/5 for driver David Miller and trainer Ross Croghan. The Cambest filly, owned by Let It Ride Stables and Docs Farm, won for the fourth time in six career starts.
Caviart Sydney won a $98,500 Bluegrass division in 1:54 , a lifetime mark, for driver Jack Moiseyev and trainer Jim Arledge Jr. Caviart Sydney (Dragon Again), owned by Caviart Farms, won for only the second time in 10 career starts.
Liantramar rallied from off the pace to win a $98,000 Bluegrass division in 1:54 2/5 for driver Eric Ledford and trainer Chris Ryder. The Sealed N Delivered filly, owned by Mathias Meinzinger, won for the fourth time in six career starts.
Make You Mine won a $92,650 Bluegrass division in 1:57 2/5, a lifetime mark. Make You Mine (Self Possessed), driven by Mike Lachance for trainer Ron Gurfein, is owned by Brittany Farms, Sampson Street Stable, Jerry Silva and Mathias Meinzinger.
Matchstick Man led all the way for trainer/driver Ray Schnittker to win a $92,650 Bluegrass in 1:57 1/5, a lifetime mark. Matchstick Man, a son of Conway Hall owned by Schnittker and Paul Doherty, won for the fifth time in eight career starts.
Global Glide overcame a rough start to win a $92,650 Bluegrass in 1:57 2/5 for driver Ron Pierce and trainer Jimmy Takter. The Yankee Glide colt, owned by Christina Takter and J.D. Fielding, won for the fourth time in nine career starts.
