$385,000 Bluegrass Series Today at The Red Mile
September 28, 2005
Quick Credit romped to a 1:56 victory in one of five $77,400 dashes of the Bluegrass Series for freshman filly trotters today at The Red Mile. John Campbell was in the sulky for trainer Paul Kelley, as the filly trotted to a four-length win over Garland Crown OM and Azalea Gal. She pushed her career earnings to $180,391 with the win.
“She's professional and push-button,” Campbell said. “She's just like an aged pacer to drive. “Paul told me she won easily in New York, but with those state-breds, it's always a guessing game.”
Sand Maralargo, driven by Eric Ledford for trainer Seldon Ledford, won in 1:57 to notch her second win in eight career starts. Celebrity Sweedie was second and Stardust third. Sand Malalargo, by Malabar Man, is owned D'elegance Stable IX, C. Iannacone, Royal Flush Stable and Ledford Racing.
Queen Serene, driven by trainer Trond Smedshammer, won her second race in five starts in 1:57 1/5. Klipspringer was second and Zeta Jones third. Queen Serene, by Dream Vacation, is owned by Timo Yi Panula.
