Big M Fall Series Applications Available

The 19-date fall harness meet at the Meadowlands opens on Friday, November 18, with a four-night per week schedule (Wednesdays through Saturdays) thru December 31.
Applications for the 2006 Winter Series and nominations for a trio of Fall Series are now available on the Meadowlands website: www.bigm.com

The deadline for nominations for the Winter Series as well as the first stakes of the spring for three-year-old pacers, the Berry’s Creek, is December 15.

The Winter Series include the Presidential, Su Mac Lad, Clyde Hirt, Tender Loving Care, Junior Trendsetter, Complex, Cape & Cutter, Horse & Groom, Aquarius, Four Leaf Clover, Overbid, Night Styles, Exit 16W, Jersey Girls, Senior Trendsetter, Super Bowl, White Ruffles and Matt’s Scooter.

The Berry’s Creek, with elims on April 29, will offer a $225,000 estimated final on May 6. For 2006, the declaration fee for the Berry’s Creek was reduced by $500 to $2,000.

All three of the Fall Series events feature a pair of $15,000 elims to determine the fields for finals estimated to have purses of $50,000. The Snow Angel [elims on December 1 and 8 with final on December 15] closed with 36 nominees, the Oil Burner [November 18, 26 and December 3] with 65 eligibles and the Charles Singer [November 18, 25 and December 2] with 56. The trotters and pacers will be tuning up for their return to the Meadowlands on November 18 with qualifying races held at Gaitway Farm in Englishtown, New Jersey on Thursday, November 10, at 10 am, EST. If the number of entries warrants another day of qualifiers, this will be on Friday, November 11, also at Gaitway. Entries will be taken on November 8 between the hours of 4 and 6 pm in the Big M Race Office.

The Meadowlands’ New Year’s Eve program on December 31 will have a mid-afternoon post time of 2:30 pm, EST . All other first race posts are at 7:30 pm, EST.
Dark days are November 24 [Thanksgiving], December 17 [NFL game at Giants Stadium], December 21 thru December 24 & December 28 [Christmas holidays].
