Sunday Afternoon
Holy Guacamolie had the spirit to resist the challenge of even-money favorite Hurri Kane Billy G to win the third race, the first of two $20,000 opening round divisions of the Father Foley Series for trotters on Sunday afternoon at the Meadowlands. Holy Guacamolie, driven by Ron Pierce and trained by Linda Toscano, held on for a head victory, trotting the mile in a lifetime best of 1:52.3. Victory Margin was third by three and a half lengths. A much anticipated match up between Hurri Kane Billy G, trained by John McDermott, and HZ Easy, from the barn of his brother, Kevin McDermott, was spoiled when HZ Easy broke stride on the backstretch while trying to yield to Sundance Kid G.

Holy Guacamolie, a five-year-old son of Conway Hall, races for Joe and Joann Thomson of Chesapeake City, Maryland, and the Carl & Rod Allen Stable of Ocala, Florida. He now has two wins and a third in three starts this year and a career bankroll of $194,303.

In the second division, carded as the fifth race, Dink Adoo who had a 10-race winning streak snapped in the Su Mac Lad Series, rebounded to win by one-length over ENS Snapshot in a career best of 1:53.1 with Cat Manzi at the lines. Durgin Hanover edged out CR Kinetic for third, a length and a quarter back. Dink Adoo now has a career bankroll of $323,800. The three-week Father Foley Series continues next Sunday with a $51,780 final on May 1.

Saturday Night
Canyon Wind battled first up around the backside and surged to the lead in the stretch to win by three and a quarter lengths in the featured seventh race, a $47,500 open pace, on Saturday night at the Meadowlands. The five-year-old son of Cambest paced the mile in 1:49.1. Live Out Loud finished second and it was three and a half lengths back to JK Royalflush in third. Driven by David Miller and trained by Steve Elliott, Canyon Wind scored his second straight victory and increased his lifetime earnings to $415,056 for owners the Schoor-Racing Stable of Colts Neck, New Jersey and Val D'Or Farms of Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey.

Wednesday Night at The Big M
Ideal News posted her second straight win, capturing the $22,500 Blossom, the third race on Wednesday night at the Meadowlands. John Campbell guided the daughter of Western Ideal to a half-length tally over I'm All In in the second leg of the three-week series for three-year-old pacing fillies. Righteous Renee, the even-money favorite, faded to third, a length back. The time of the mile was 1:53.4. Ideal News now has two wins and a second in three starts this year. Last year, at two, she was winless, with one second and two thirds in five starts. The Joe Holloway trainee races for Brittany Farms of Versailles, Kentucky and Val D'Or Farms of Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey. The $64,850 Blossom Final is next Wednesday night at the Meadowlands.
