The Skinny: Ideal News powered by Freezer Cash for a neck victory in the $200,000 Miss New Jersey, with Svannah Skky two lengths back in third. Ideal News, who had swept the three-week Blossom Series in April, now has six wins and two seconds in eight starts this year for owner-breeders the Brittany Farms of Versailles, Kentucky and the Val D'Or Farms of Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey.
"She's real good off cover like that," David Miller said of his winning trip with Ideal News, a daughter of Western Ideal - Whats New. "If you don't use her early, she has a good kick to her in the end. I was a little concerned with the soft fractions. But the track is favoring closers tonight."

The Skinny: As expected, favorite Rocknroll Hanover rallied for a three and a quarter length victory in the $500,000 SBOA/New Jersey Classic. Jo Pa's Shark edged out Load The Dice for second place. Rocknroll Hanover, sent off as the 6-5 favorite, is now a perfect three-for-three in 2005. On the board in seven of eight starts at two, he now has banked $811,756 for the partnership of Jeffrey Snyder of New York City and Phyllis Audrey Campbell's Lothlorien Equestrian Center of Mississauga, Ontario.
"He's been perfect and two fingers to drive," said winning driver Brian Sears. "He's learning how to come off the pace, and he's real handy now. I landed on John's back [Campbell driving Cam's Fool]. They mixed it up upfront, and it worked out for me. Brett [trainer Pelling] has done a great job getting him ready."
