Big M to Cut One Day of Racing per Week

The Meadowlands has received permission from the Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association of New Jersey to cut its weekly schedule of racing by one day due to the shortage of horses being raced in the Garden State. Which day will be dropped is expected to be announced early this week.
Last Friday night's card included just two full fields of 10, and live handle on the harness card was $413, 018, with a total harness handle of $2,561,548. Thursday night's card also had just nine races and no 10-horse fields, resulting in a live handle of $208,256 and a total handle of $1,949,903.
