Quik Pulse Mindale Favored in $235,000 American National Sophomore Colt Pace

Lloyd and Nancy Arnold's Quik Pulse Mindale heads a full field of ten three-year-old pacing colts in Balmoral's fifth race on Saturday night (July 3), the $235,000 American National Colt Pace.  Slated as race five, Quik Pulse Mindale will leave from post ten for driver Tony Morgan.  The son of Jenna's Beach Boy is trained by conditioner Mike Arnold.

Morgan piloted Quick Pulse Mindale to a 1:51 victory in the first of two nine-horse, $29,500 eliminations for three-year-old pacing colts on June 26. Using his typical, come-from-behind style, the Jenna’s Beach Boy youngster rallied from near last to score a one-length victory, his sixth of the season in as many tries.

"This horse is just awesome," Morgan noted. "He just does whatever you ask him to do, and he does it so easily, that it’s really deceptive, because you don’t realize how fast he’s going, because he doesn’t seem to put out much effort to get the job done."

In that race, Quick Pulse Mindale bested rivals Prince Vince (Mike Oosting) and Yankees In Seven (Tim Tetrick), who will also join the winner in the rich final, along with fourth-place Nineteenth Hole (Dale Hiteman) and He Does It All (Eric Ledford). The win pushed The Provincial Cup winner’s seasonal earnings to $205,565 and his career earnings to $225,920.

The gelded son of Western Hanover is conditioned by Randy Bendis, and co-owned by Bendis, S. Castelli, J. Campbell and W. Varney of Pennsylvania and Maine.

Georgia Pacific grabbed the lead at the :54.2 half and never looked back, winning by a length over rival Sparkler (Brent Holland) and Enemy At The Gate (Dave Magee). Droppin’TheHammer (Ryan Anderson) and Fresh Heir (Mike Oosting) also nailed down starting berths in the final for themselves.

The victory was the fourth of the year in 11 tries for Georgia Pacific and pushed his seasonal earnings to $207,851 and his lifetime bankroll to $303,455. The field is below:
