Ten Cent Superfectas & Reduced Takeouts Highlight Balmoral Park’s Opening Night
August 7, 2007
Racing returned to Balmoral Park Tuesday following a seven week hiatus. The Crete oval offers mile track racing four nights a week. Tuesday, Wednesday & Saturday, post time 7:20; Sunday evenings carry the traditional 6:30 post.
By popular demand, ten cent superfecta wagering will return to the mile track. General Manager Doug Clements said there was solid public support from our guests to bring the wager back The ten cent superfecta will be offered on almost every race. Balmoral Park was the first track in Illinois to introduce ten cent wagering.
The fifty cent pick five will consist of races three thru seven. The takeout on this bet has been lowered to 15% every night, the lowest in the State of Illinois. The bet has been placed much earlier in the card in an attempt to attract a national audience with a reduced take out bet similar to the Meadowlands pick 4.
“ We like to be proactive and offer different types of bets” said Clements.” The Pick 5 is a multi race bet with a 15% takeout AND a 50 cent minimum. There is really no bet like it out there. Combine that with our nightly $1 Pick 4, ten cent supers and the $25,000 Bal Cal, and you have a wagering menu that I believe racing fans will embrace. If you want to bet a little and win a lot, Balmoral Park offers you those wagering opportunities”.
Summer stakes will be a vital part of the Balmoral schedule. Super Night XIX, the biggest night in Illinois racing will be held on September 15th. American National Night, featuring six Am-Nat finals will bring the continents best pacers and trotters to Balmoral on November 3rd.
Our sister track Maywood Park, will begin their summer meet on Thursday, August 9th. Racing on the half mile track will be held Thursday & Friday evenings with a post time of 7:20.
