Breeders Crown Supplements, Entries Looming

The countdown has begun on entries for the $4.4 million Breeders Crown Events, to be raced Saturday, October 28 at Woodbine Racetrack, Toronto, Canada. The $500,000 (guaranteed) Breeders Crown sophomore events carry a supplemental tag of $62,500.

Supplemental declarations for the four three-year-old events are due and payable on Monday, October 16, 2006 by 12:00 noon in the racing secretary's office at Mohawk Racetrack. A one-time supplemental payment makes a horse eligible to subsequent years’ Breeders Crown events under the normal schedule of payments. There are no supplements for the two-year-old races.

The starting fee is included in the supplemental amounts, and all supplemental money, minus the starting fee, may be added to the purse of the individual events.

Horses eligible to the Breeders Crown events must enter by 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 17, also at the Mohawk race office. Eliminations for all two-year-old trotters and pacing fillies, if needed, will occur on Friday, October 20. The remaining five eliminations will be raced Saturday, October 21.

The connections of elimination winners may pick their post position for the finals. The three-year-old colt races will be drawn at the Breeder Crown press conference on Tuesday, October 24, at the WEGZ (Woodbine Entertainment Gaming Zone) Stadium Bar in Vaughan, Ontario.
