Lis Mara Wins Second $45,000 BC Pace Elim
Lis Mara roared to a near wire-to-wire victory in the second of two $45,000 Breeders Crown eliminations of the Open Pace, stopping the clock in 1:48.1 with driver Brian Sears in the sulky for trainer Erv Miller. It was the sixth win of the year for the son of Cambest--Lisheen (by Abercrombie). The four-year-old bay horse now has three wins in a row, including the Canadian Pacing Derby.

"I left really hard with this horse and he really didn't like me taking ahold of him later in the race, but he eventually settled down and really raced well. It wasn't an easy choice between this horse and Boulder Creek but sometimes you have to make difficult decisions in this business," driver Brian Sears said.
