Andy Miller Scores Career Win #5,000

Driver Andy Miller scored his 5,000th career victory Tuesday night at Balmoral Park when he piloted Della Ware to victory in Tuesday’s 10th race. The 37-year-old reinsman began driving in 1985 and since then has amassed over $41 million in career earnings. Andy scored his best year in 2000, when he piloted the 613 winners (with 526 seconds and 469 thirds to the tune of $5.6 million.

Miller becomes only the seventh Chicago based driver to hit this coveted plateau, and joined such Prairie State greats as Hall of Famer Dave Magee, Tony Morgan, Dale Hiteman, Walter Paisley, Daryl Busse, and Ron Marsh. He is the 53rd driver in North American history to reach 5,000 victories.
