Andy Miller

Illinois native Andy Miller recently scored his 4,000th victory on Friday night, July 23, 2004 at Hawthorne Race Course in Stickney, Illinois. The 35-year-old reinsman, a native of Matoon, Illinois has steered the winner's of well over $32 million to date and his totals in 2004 are just over $2 million.

Andy grew up in a harness racing family and is often found standing besides his brother, trainer Erv Miller in the paddocks at the Chicago area racetracks. Andy is perhaps best known for his partnership with the great ageless pacing champion Taser Gun. He has also piloted champion filly Loyal Opposition, as well as Aries Conquest and Jan's Julie Too.

Andy is married to trainer Julie (Julius) Miller, and together they have two children, residing in Beecher, Illinois. HIs best year to date came in 2000, when he piloted the winners of over $5 million with 613 winners to his credit. He began driving in 1985 and the $430 he earned that year in purse monies is a far cry from his exploits of the present.

Andy's orange, white and black colors are a familiar site on many North American tracks these days, as he's posted million dollar winning seasons each year since 1996. It doesn't look like that trend is going to end anytime soon, either--that is, if Andy has anything to say about it.
