Pair of $29,000 Elims Go Postward at Balmoral

Thisbigdogwillfight did just that en route to winning the first of two $29,000 American National eliminations Saturday night at Balmoral. Defty handled by Brent Holland for trainer Jim Eaton, the sophomore son of The Big Dog won his fourth straight start for owners the Redbud Stable and Michael Mcneely of Illinois, stopping the timer in 1:50.2. Fox Valley Tribal (Tim Tetrick) got up for second, with Real Mean Art (Mike Oosting) in third.

In the second divison Jereme's Jet won with Dave Magee at the lines in 1:49.4. The sophomore son of Western Hanover apears to finally be regaining the form that made him the nation's top freshman pacer in 2005. Life Guard On Duty (Tim Tetrick) nailed second with My Boy David (Dale Hiteman) third.

The first five finishers from each eliminnation will advance to the $272,000 American National Sophomore Pace Final on July 29 at the Crete oval.
