Albert Albert was campaigned throughout his career by Michigan-based horseman Chris Boring for owners Mike Shapira and Dean Friedman's Proudfoot Farms. He was purchased from his breeder Tim Rooney for $42,000.

Albert Albert won ten of 18 starts as a freshman, including the Fox Stakes at Indianapolis during the summer Grand Circuit meet.  He then paced to a world record 1:55.1h in the first heat of the Kentucky Pacing Derby and his two-heat time of 3:50.4 is still the world record standard.

As a sophomore Albert Albert won nine of 22 outings, including the Oliver Wendell Holmes at The Meadowlands, a Indiana State Fair Stake and the $329,000 Slutsky Memorial at Monticello Raceway in New York State.  It was at Indianapolis that he took his career mark of 1:52.1.

Besides having a successful stud career in North America, Albert Albert stood stud in Australia for four years as well, where his 775 foals earned more than $7.5 million.  At the time of his death he ranked third in every breeding category in that Down Under nation.

In North America Albert Albert stood at Stonegate farm for eight years before moving to Glengate Farms in Ontario, Canada where he would eventually pass away in 2005 at the age of 20 years.  He sired nearly 1,000 starters stateside, 233 of which have records of 1:55 or fastest. His total progeny earnings excede more than $61 million at the time of this writing (Nov 05).  His richest performer is Pacific Rocket, who earned more than $2.3 million and he is also the sire of such standouts as Ooh's N Aahs and Bad Bert.  His fastest winning performer is Little Steven, as well as 1:50 pacers Pacific Rocket and Mystic Marauder.

At the time of his death Albert Albert was owned by the Albert Albert Syndicate of Circleville, New York.
