Horses-just like human beings-suffer from a wide range of illnesses and maladies that can strike at anytime. Foals, two-year-olds in training, old campaigners and broodmares and stallions are all subject to a variety of career-ending or life-threatening illnesses.

Diseases like EPM, West Nile Virus and equine encephalitis and influenza are all ailments that can afflict horses today. Other common problems include colic, the "tying-up" syndrome, strangles, parasites, and heart troubles.
